The foundation of this trust is Public Key Infrastructure (PKI). PKI enables secure digital certificates, digital signatures and digital identity verification, helping establish who is involved in a digital transaction and whether information can be trusted.
Supporting this foundation is the Communications Regulatory Authority of Namibia (CRAN). CRAN operates Namibia’s national Root Certification Authority, accredits and oversees Certification Service Providers, and monitors compliance with the applicable legal, technical, security and operational requirements.
Through this trusted framework, accredited Certification Service Providers issue and manage digital certificates for individuals and organisations, enabling secure and verifiable digital transactions.
DigiNam (Digital Namibia – Trust is now Digital), brings this ecosystem together under a national identity for digital trust.
